I’ve just been rummaging through my Flickr account to find some pics for a book i’m making for t’other half of some of our memories and didn’t realise i’d uploaded so many pics already. My New Years Resolution for 2010 will be to take more photo’s than i’ve ever done before, especially Black & White, Landcapes and Action shots. In the meantime have a butchers at me flickrs!

Making the most of the British summer today, took some photos of the garden, Pippa and Eiko. I shot a little video as well which i’ll upload in a bit.

I got my old Minolta A2 out today and took a few pics around the garden with it, tis a brilliant camera – i really should use it more often. Much less hassle than carrying around my big DSLR and it takes better pics than my little Sony Cybershot too. Click here to go to my flickr gallery

I’ve been looking for somewhere to upload both photos and videos. For pix i used Flickr and for videos i used Viddyou and had paid accounts with both. I’ve also tried Vimeo which i like and YouTube which is full of idiotic children leaving idiotic comments, so although HD videos look ok on YouTube, it’s still the a trailertrash video site. So anyway, i found SmugMug! It’s certainly not the cheapest of pix and video hosting solutions but i reckon it’s the best. Your photos are displayed very professionally and you can even sell them through SmugMug. But what really impressed me was their HD video! I’ve uploaded a couple of HD videos and they look amazing on there. Plus you get embed codes so you can embed either dvd quality video or web quality (see below).

Viddyou videos look better embedded i think, however, go to SmugMug and watch the video in full size High Def and you really notice a difference! –> Click Here

Whilst the rest of you are playing online poker or surfing porn or other such fabulous things, do you know what i am searching for? This. A giant cupcake tin. It’s official, middle age is approaching fast (well … 36 in a couple of months). We’re spending our Sunday doing paperwork. I’m about to work my way through a load of forms to be filled and all i can think about is catching up on Ugly Betty. Bugger!

God it’s addictive isn’t it! I used to be a regular poster at forums but i’m knocking it on the head. I was finding that i was spending a good chunk of free time just on catching up on numerous forums and then updating my own forum. Which meant my own website was becoming neglected and i wasn’t having enough time to just casually browse the web. I want to spend more time on photography, videomaking and geekery so something had to give. Can’t say i’m missing it either!
