Well when twitter first came out i used it quite a bit but now it’s exploded and become super popular i hardly ever touch it. I came to realise that why would complete strangers be interested in my little status updates and in addition – why do i care to tell complete strangers little staus updates!? I mean you can’t write anything earth shattering with 140 characters. And to be honest, i don’t give a fuck what a complete stranger had for dinner!
I suppose it’s useful for linking to things and i sometimes browse the trending topics but i’m not interested in updating anymore. I think facebook is better for that. It’s more personal. Or perhaps following celebs you may like or favourite blogs, news etc.
Sorry Twitter, i’m all twitted out :(
Eee what a lovely day! I’m outside in the summerhouse tapping away whilst Eiko sits next to me on his deckchair and Pippa is flying around the garden trying to get me to chuck her ball. You just know we are going to pay for this good weather we’ve had this last few days with the mutha of all downpours. Oh well.
I took this photo on my Milestone (Droid) and as you can probably see, since it updated to 2.1 firmware the camera is shit! So much so that i’m thinking of rolling the firmware back because the camera is quite an important feature to me. I haven’t been overly impressed with Motorola at all.
I’m also wondering about getting a little netbook (I will NOT buy an iPad!) for casual web browsing when i’m in the garden, or just want to quickly check something on the web or whatever. Although i might wait and see if there are any tablet devices other than iPad coming out that look promising.
Speaking of android, if you use an Android device then give SwiftKey a go, it’s a brilliant keyboard replacement app that predicts what it thinks you will type next and it is spookily accurate! It’s amazing how much time it saves you especially if (like me) you’re a heavy texter. Here’s the link: http://www.swiftkey.net/
Oh well, back to the grind *switches kettle on*
Well i can’t believe it’s almost over! I think season 4 has been absolutely brilliant and after just watching the penultimate episode of Ugly Betty i had a tear in my eye. Not just because the end is nigh but also because it was such a brilliant episode! The loose ends are staring to come together now and happy endings are in sight for most.
The Justin coming out storyline has been brilliantly done i thought. What a refreshing change to see a teenager coming out rather than the usual prom queen gets with prom king drivel you often see in these shows. And Justins BF is cute which is a bonus. It was very subtly done and really quite touching. It’s just a shame that it’s taken the show creators 4 years to have the balls to do something like this. Poor Mark has been missing out.
I’m going to miss the magnificent Willie! She and Amanda have been my two favourite characters. I also love Hilda, especially when she’s pissed off and kicking ass bless her.
The only character i’ve really disliked in Ugly Betty is Henry, what a wet rag he is! He’s the most non-descript character on TV and lord knows what he’s doing in Ugly Betty! I’m so glad she didn’t end up with him and kinda disappointed she didn’t end up with Gio!
So, how will it all end? Who was shot? I do hope Willy didn’t take a bullet. Will Daniel declare his love for Betty (i’m guessing yes) and will they end up together – hmm maybe? He was filming with her in London …
Roll on the finale!
Well, i am roughly 28 hours into this game now and i have mixed feelings about it. The first 25 hours or so felt like i was more of a viewer occasionally interacting with the game than a game player. As has been said many times before FF13 is very linear and it’s not a good thing. You’re being told where to walk and then when you do encounter a battle you basically just keep hitting x till you win. So for hours on end it’s:
Walk in straight line > bash x > watch lovely cut scene > Walk in straight line > bash x > watch lovely cut scene > Walk in straight line > bash x > watch lovely cut scene > Walk in straight line > bash x > watch lovely cut scene > Walk in straight line > bash x > watch lovely cut scene > Walk in straight line > bash x > watch lovely cut scene > ……
You get the picture. After many hours though you can start putting your ‘paradigms’ to good use and finally you start to have to think about how you’re going to win your battle. You can also upgrade your weapons and accessories etc. Then when you battle ‘The Pope’ at the 25 hours(ish) mark it suddenly become really hard to win battles! It didn’t feel like a gradual step up at all.
The cut scenes are glorious though and probably the best FF has ever come up with. I am enjoying it but it’s certainly not my favourite Final Fantasy. I don’t like how claustrophobic it feels and how simplified they have made it. But that said i have finally got to the part where everything opens up so maybe it will feel a bit more like traditional FF games now. We shall see and i’ll update when i’m done!
